Gillets Jaunes protest & Armed Forces’ Role in future cities

Urban conflicts will be frequent in 21st century as consequence of World Urbanization. States’ governments, regional and local administrations have to face to new challenges. European Union Member States has to design what will be the Armed Forces’ Role in present and future cities.

Some examples of strategic challenges beyond 2018 are “Plan Sentinelle in France” or “Operazione Strade Sicure” in Italy. Armed Forces must support internal security for the protection of the population, the territory and the critical infrastructures. Departments of Defense must be re-structured in order to accomplish these missions.
